Oh, Xanga. What am I going to do with you?

Oh, Xanga. What am I going to do with you? I enjoy writing on here now and then, but here's the paradox. You can't write on xanga what you'd write in a journal, because everyone would be able to read it, but on the other hand, sometimes you write a ton on here and nobody reads it. But the solution to that sometimes ends up being writing just the superficial details of my life (i.e. here's where I am, here's what I'm doing...), which is great if you're traveling the world or something like that, where xanga can help you keep your family and friends up to date. It just seems that I see my family and friends a lot in real in life, so they already know those details. Oh, well.

In case you haven't seen me lately, though, I'll tell you where I am and what I'm up to. I'm in Eau Claire for most of the summer. I got my wisdom teeth out a few days ago. That was not very fun, but thankfully it hasn't been nearly as bad as I had expected, and I've been recovering quickly. The first day or so, I lay around on the couch, watching the second season of Lost. I have a big stack of books I'd been meaning to read, so it gave me a chance to get to some of them as well. My family's been here for a while, so we've been back and forth between here and Menomonie a few times. We set off fireworks at the Redmanns' the other night for the Fourth of July, with the Hoaglands and a bunch of other people from their church. Jacob and Isaac and Daniel and I made a sweet "Extreme Croquet" course around the Hoagland's house, putting the wickets all over little hills and rocks and other hard to get at places.

I went to a couple of weddings last month. Tabetha and Andy got married, and it was awesome. I'm excited for them. I was a groomsman, and it was a lot of fun to spend time with my friends from Fergus again. The weekend after that, Ben Westby got married in Omaha, Nebraska, which is where his wife Amy is from. I'm excited for them, too. Matthew and I drove down there for the blessed event. We were originally planning to stay at a hotel somewhere, but suddenly it turns out my dad's cousin lives there! So we stayed with him and his family; it was fun getting to meet some new relatives. I guess we saw them when I was little, and Daniel and I played Legos with one of their kids, but I have only vague memories of that. Again, the wedding was awesome. I'd love to get married.

Words that best describe things right now

The one word that best describes things right now is: Busy.

And the twenty-two words that best describe things right now are: Looking forward to Christmas break when I won't have anything to do and I will be able to relax with my family.

I had a job interview at the Eau Claire library today.

I won't know what they decide until sometime next week, though.

National Anthem at the Twins Game, My Family Visiting, and Some Slightly Less Exciting Things.

The most exciting developments of the last few days are as follows:

My father and brother came to visit this weekend. It was good to see them; we went to my cousin Jacob's football game.

The Singing Statesmen, the men's choir I am a part of at school, sang the national anthem at the Twins game on Saturday! It was pretty awesome. Between the game and driving back and forth, that one minute of singing took most of the day, but it was fun and definitely worth it! A good use of a Saturday.

This week, I have been catching up on some texbook reading for school. In music history, we've been learning about ancient Greek music and medieval chant.

I had a cold for a few days, but not so much now.

I've put some of those movies online, mainly for the benefit of those involved, but if you are remotely interested, you can see 'em at www.xanga.com/machinegunchicken. Most of those are older ones, though.

Right now, I am going to end this blog and go have a glass of orange juice.
